Throttle Position Sensor Calibration (Chrysler)

The COMPUSHIFT Mini needs an accurate throttle position sensor signal in order to operate properly.  

Calibration Procedure

Put SAFETY FIRST. You should not attempt the throttle sensor calibration unless you are thoroughly familiar with working around engines.

Begin by starting the vehicle in park. Let the engine run long enough for it to come off the the fast idle or choke setting. This ensures that at idle the throttle is in the fully closed position.  Turn off the engine, but leave the ignition in the "on" position.

In the COMPUSHIFT Setup app, navigate to the "Engine Setup" menu, and click on the button for "TPS Calibration".  You should see the following screen:

To calibrate the throttle position sensor, you will do the following:

1. Press the "Start" button.
2. Smooth the accelerator pedal completely to the floor and release it.  You have five seconds to do this as the progress bar moves across the screen.
3. Press the "OK" button to return to the "Engine" menu.

From the engine screen, go back to the Dashboard screen and monitor the TPS gauge.  You should be able to move the accelerator pedal through its range of motion and show from 0 to 100% TPS on screen. 

No faults should show in the fault count.

Once the throttle position sensor has been successfully calibrated, you should be ready to drive.
