Ford E4OD Wiring and Vehicle Speed Signal Guide
This guide provides the pinout for the E4OD Transmission Range (TR) sensor and instructions for tapping the Ford speed signal (VSS) for the RABS version of the COMPUSHIFT harness.

Ford Speed Signal (VSS) Tap Instructions
Follow these instructions to locate and tap the Ford speed signal for a Compushift VSS connection.
Primary Method (PSOM / PCM)
Locate the wire for the Ford speed signal. This is a Gray/Black (GY/BK) wire.
This wire can be found in two locations:
PSOM (Powertrain/Speed Control Output Module): Terminal 7
PCM (Powertrain Control Module): Terminal 3
Connect the Compushift VSS High (Purple/Yellow) wire to this Gray/Black wire.
Alternative Method (RABS Sensor)
You can also use the differential RABS (Rear Antilock Brake System) sensor signal, only if it is not currently used by the onboard instrument cluster.
Location: If you have trouble finding the main VSS signal, this RABS signal is available at the test plug located under the hood, near the left (driver's side) hood hinge.
