Installing HGM CSII Utilities with an OBDLink Cable
Requirements
You must have a PC running Windows 7 or later operating system in order to run the tools..
You will need a ODBLink SX Scantool or equivalent. A suggested source, if HGM has not provided one for you, is at www.amazon.com..
You should have installed the latest FTDI drivers.. A recent copy is located here CDM v2.12.06 WHQL Certified.zip
You should have a CAN bus cable that goes from the OBDLink tool to the HGM transmission controller (CSII or later), or the CSII must be on the vehicle CAN bus. and the OBDLink must be plugged into the OBD DLC port of the vehicle.
Settings
In the control panel for the ODBLink device (which should appear as a COM port), you will need to be sure of the following settings:
Latency timer: 1ms
Minimum Read Timeout (msec): 0
Minimum Write Timeout (msec): 0
The control panel (found under Device Manager / USB Serial Port Properties / Advanced) should look like this. Adjust as necessary to match these settings:
Download the Software
Click this link: hgmutils.zip to download the latest software. Unzip file file into a folder on your desktop. You can run programs directly from this folder.
Installing the Software
Unlike many other programs, the HGM utilities do not need an installer to run. You can simply download the utilities into a folder and double click the program to start them.
