Installing and Using the Paddle Shifter Harness on COMPUSHIFT
Overview
This article describes how to install the optional paddle shifter harness on a COMPUSHIFT Sport or COMPUSHIFT Pro controller.
The COMPUSHIFT Paddle Shifter Harness has four wires: common ground (white), upshift (white/red), downshift (white/black), and mode hold (white/green). Note that all of the switches are intended to switch to ground. You do not need to use the common ground wire provided (white) but it is there for convenience. Tape it off if you are not using it.
Installation Instructions
If not already fitted in the harness, these wires must be installed into the main controller harness plug using the following instructions below. When inserting the terminals, you should hear or feel a slight click when the terminal fully seats.
Remove black main harness plug cover using small screw drivers on retainer clips and lift up to release.
Cut plastic tie to release wire bundle, be careful not to damage any wires.
Remove cavity plugs in 30, 46, 47, 67 using a pair of long nosed pliers.
Install white/green mode wire in cavity 30, if it is being used (see use instructions below)
Install white common ground wire in cavity 46.
Install white/red upshift wire in cavity 47.
Install white/black downshift wire in cavity 67.
Replace plastic tie to secure wire bundle.
Replace plastic cover.
Connect wires to upshift and downshift buttons as desired. If you are using a paddle shifter, connect the wires according to the supplied instructions.

Use Instructions
The system may be used with or without the hold mode switch.
For shift levers like the Lokar Automatic Sport Mode Shifter, we recommend you connect the mode switch according to our instructions.
With the hold mode switch turned off or disconnected, the system works as follows:
The system will power on and run in the fully automatic shifting mode.
A momentary press of the upshift switch will select the next gear (if possible), and change into switch shift mode.
A momentary press of the downshift switch the select the previous gear (if possible), and change into the switch shift mode.
Pressing the the upshift or downshift button for more than 2 seconds will exit the switch shift mode, and resume automatic shifting.
Moving the shift lever will also exit the switch shift mode.
With the hold mode switch connected, the system works as follows:
Turning on the hold mode switch will put the system into switch shift mode. No gear change will occur.
No gear change will occur until the upshift or downshift switch is pressed.
A momentary closure of the upshift switch will select the next gear (if possible).
A momentary closure of the downshift switch the select the previous gear (if possible).
Turning off the hold mode switch will resume automatic shifting. This may result in an immediate shift.
